The author of a new book critical of Donald Trump says it’s time for the country to look at “a new way” to solve the problems of its future.
Michael Cohen, author of ‘The Art of the Deal’, is a longtime confidant of Mr Trump who has written the foreword to the new book.
Mr Cohen, who served as an adviser to Mr Trump from January 2016 to October 2017, said the country needs a new approach to the country’s economic problems and that it was necessary to be bold.
“We can’t go back to the old, ‘all of the above’ thinking,” Mr Cohen said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.
“That is simply not working.”
I think we need to go back and take a different approach.
We’ve got to be a little more cautious.
We can’t just go forward.
We have to have a look at what is working, what is not working and what is new.
“Mr Cohen said he believed the “new” approach was to focus on “disruption” and “innovation”.
He said the “diverse array of ideas” that Mr Trump offered during the campaign and the subsequent presidency had been a “game changer”.”
The ideas that he was talking about were things that he thought we had never seen before,” Mr Trump said in a video address to the US Senate in December.”
The way he spoke to me and his staff was like, ‘You know what?
Let’s have a big party’.””
I would go to his house and he would say, ‘Hey, I got something to say.
It’s going to be fun.
It might not be fun at all, but it will be interesting.’
“Mr Cohen added that Mr Obama’s administration had focused on the “hollowing out” of the middle class and the “disastrous policies” of former President George W Bush.”
He did that by a very narrow margin,” Mr Netanyahu said of Mr Obama.”
They were not talking about the middle, they were talking about people at the bottom.
“Mr Trump, who was sworn in as president in January, has faced criticism for comments about women, immigrants and Muslims during his campaign.
Mr Netanyahu said that while Mr Trump was “one of the most effective presidents in US history”, his presidency was “deeply disappointing” for America.”
It is a reflection of the American character,” Mr Benjamin said.”
To be so blind to that character and not to notice it is a failure.”ABC/wiresTopics:world-politics,united-states,united.af,world-elections,politics-and-government,donald-trump,united_states,world_politics,april-28,nsw
