Author Axios has a big scoop on a potential merger between Apple and a rival: Amazon and Apple.
The deal would be a boon to both companies, Axios says.
Amazon would benefit from more direct relationships with its customers, the company would also be able to take advantage of the technology behind Amazon Prime and Amazon Web Services.
The deal would also benefit Apple, Axiom says, because Amazon’s services would be able a more seamless and frictionless process for buying goods and services.
The two companies have been fighting for years to merge, and Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has long said the deal would create a bigger, more powerful company.
Apple currently has roughly 50 million employees worldwide.
Amazon has about 35 million employees.
